About
Danilo Lauria is a video artist and filmmaker based in New York, working between art, fashion and technology.
Born in Barcelona, he began as a copywriter at S,C,P,F before spending several years in advertising in Miami, always making videos alongside his work. Everything changed with his first iPhone. In the early days of Vine and Instagram, he began sharing his films, and that work brought him to New York, where he led social video for Fusion and entered fashion through a collaboration with Stella McCartney.
With little more than a phone, he went on to create work for Vogue, Valentino and Calvin Klein. That way of working, light, close and fast, still defines his images: moving pictures with the immediacy of the street, combining analog and digital techniques with an instinct for new image-making tools.
His work spans artistic collaborations, commissioned films and experiential projects, and has received recognition from the Clio Awards and New York Festivals. He is also the co-founder of LiquidSound, a fragrance house that translates sound into scent, extending his exploration of perception beyond the screen.
